What are the hours of operation for the buses?

Link Transit buses run Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. No service is available on Sundays or holidays.

What do bus stop signs look like?

Signs in corresponding route colors are located at each stop. They may be mounted individually, on existing sign poles or on light posts.

How can I get a discount on other public transit systems that charge a fare?

Are there cameras on board Link Transit vehicles?

Yes, for the safety of our passengers and our operators all Link Transit vehicles are equipped with security cameras. Cameras monitor video and audio activity.

Link Transit operates within Burlington, Gibsonville, Elon, Haw River, Green Level, Mebane and limited areas of Graham.

What is Umo and how does it work?

  1. What is Umo? Umo is a convenient contactless fare payment system, enabling riders to easily board buses or trains and manage their accounts using the Umo App or a Umo smart card, providing flexible travel and a seamless payment experienceLearn more here: https://support.umomobility.com/hc/en-us.
  2. Are fares the same on Umo? Yes! The fare are the same on Umo for General Fare and Discount Fare and Umo offers the same pass products. Visit the fares section of the website.
  3. What is fare capping? Umo fare capping enables riders to add money to their Umo Wallet to pay for each ride. Once the cumulative fares equal the price of a day or monthly pass, riders enjoy unlimited travel for the remainder of the day or calendar month, without the need for further fare payments.
  4. Is fare capping enabled with this new system? Yes! Link Transit riders can purchase stored value and use it against the following caps for Fixed Route service:
    1. Discount Fare: Day Cap - $2.00, 31-Day Cap - $10.00
    2. Full Fare: Day Cap - $4.00, 31-Day Cap - $20.00
  5. Is Umo present on Fixed Route and Paratransit? Yes! Operators can scan rider’s mobile app code or transit Umo card to collect fare. Mobile app users can also scan the QR code affixed to the bus and pay their fare via – ScanRide.
  6. What is ScanRide? ScanRide is a convenient way for you to pay your fare directly from the mobile app! You can scan the ScanRide QR code by going to Code > Scan > Scan the ScanRide QR code for fare payment. The correct fare amount and a confirmation screen will be displayed in the app. ScanRide transactions should appear in your transaction history in Umo App.

What is the Umo App? The Umo App simplifies fare payment for transit riders with its reloadable system, allowing convenient payment by using the Umo App on their phone to interact with the electronic reader when boarding the bus, ensuring a hassle-free and efficient travel experience.  Get in the App Store or Google Play!

How does the Umo App Work? Once you purchase a pass or load money onto your Umo Wallet in the Umo App, scan the QR code upon boarding, which automatically applies the pass or cash balance for your journey.   1. How do I buy a pass for my Umo Card? To buy a Umo Card pass: 1) Log in to the Umo Passenger Portal. 2.) Click Buy Value or a Pass 3) Select the pass you want to purchase 4) click Checkout 5) Select or enter your payment method 6) Review your Card and Billing Information details and click Purchase. 
  2. How do I use my Umo Card? To use your Umo Card, hold the card within two inches and towards the bottom of the Umo reader when boarding. Umo readers are conveniently placed next to fare boxes on buses, enabling riders to tap their card when boarding. Once read, the display on the reader will confirm successful fare payment.
