Over the next year, we will be working with transit planning experts, our funding partners, and community members to prepare a Transit Development Plan and Facility Study. This study will include:
- Evaluating our system and services
- Developing an operations, marketing, and financial plan
- Recommending capital improvements
- Creating a Service Implementation Plan
- Identifying sites for a new transit facility
Public Outreach
To engage and receive feedback from stakeholders in the community, the project team has completed numerous public outreach events.
- Three focus groups were held with employers & non-profits, community-based organizations, and neighboring communities to gain info on each of their unique perspectives.
- Pop-up engagement events were held at the Downtown Transfer Center and the North Park Library to engage with riders.
- The team also collected info by riding Link routes and facilitating discussions and surveys with riders.

On May 6, 2025, Burlington City Council adopted the Link Transit Development Plan and confirmed two locations as the City's "locally preferred alternatives" (LPAs) for a potential new operations and maintenance facility and passenger transfer hub. With the LPAs, Link Transit is able to move into further development and begin key federal processes. See the executive summaries for both the Facility Study and Transit Development Plans in the document hub below.
